Akira Shimizu - Nucleus of Flowers

After his gFrom the Darknessh series, Shimizu had been trying to open a new window to his gNucleus of Flowersh series. In an oil painting which he also called gNucleus of Flowersh, he drew a cross section of the human heart, a string, a nucleus of a cell, animals such as a horse and a rabbit, insects and scissors, which are repeatedly used as a motif in his works, all in brilliant colors. The horse and the rabbit are manipulating the string as if they are performing a surgery on the heart, and the insects are in the process of molting. With such multiple images like molting and surgery, Shimizu aimed to depict a world of reproduction or revival, and viewers could perceive a divine message from this work.

After his long journey into monochrome entitled, gFrom the Darknessh series, it seemed he himself molted and reached his next stage which was even more powerful.
